Mediation is a process whereby two or more parties to a dispute, attempt on voluntary basis to reach an amicable settlement with the assistance of a neutral third party professional to oversee the process, a mediator. According to EU data, between 80-90% of cases subject to mediation result in reduced resolution time and improved cost-effectiveness with respect to traditional judicial proceedings
